Here are some frequently asked questions about Alatrac Data Collection Software.
What format does my data need to be uploaded in?
Alatrac intakes a CSV(comma-separated value) file consisting of at least the latitude and longitude. The format should be in D.DDDDD(Decimal Degrees) and WGS84.
What format does my data export in?
The data is exported via .XLSX(Excel Workbook) format.
What mobile device can you use with Alatrac?
We are an Android-only mobile application at this time. We recommend using an Android tablet, as the larger screen is ideal for viewing and filling out forms.
What Android versions does Alatrac Support?
Alatrac supports Android 13 or higher.
What kinds of information can Alatrac collect?
Alatrac is capable of capturing any fields that would fill out a spreadsheet such as Text, Numbers, and Decimal. Alatrac uses an internal GPS on the Android device to capture location information for validation and data collection. Other types of data that are captured include photos and IML RESI PowerDrill charting information.
What are some different use cases for Alatrac?
Alatrac can be used to collect any data set that is used to complete a spreadsheet. From site safety audits to utility pole inspections, we have you covered.

Can Alatrac provide cellular tablets?

How do I create my own form and business logic?
Alatrac has a friendly form/layout builder that is unique to each project and can be cloned from existing templates. Conditional logic can be applied to a form to create validation for the inspection information. For more complex setups, we offer developer assistance with project creation and business logic applications. Contact us for pricing information.
Does Alatrac work offline?
Absolutely. Alatrac was purpose-built for use in areas without cellular coverage. Connectivity is required to sign into the mobile application, download inspection data, and upload it to our servers.
Does Alatrac offer support?
Yes. Alatrac offers support M-F 8:00AM - 5:00PM Mountain Standard Time.
When using Alatrac with the IML-RESI PowerDrill, what do I need from IML?
At the risk of overstating the obvious, you first need an IML-RESI PowerDrill. Also, using Alatrac with the IML-RESI PowerDrill requires the RCI Module from IML. For maximum accuracy when using Alatrac with the IML-RESI PowerDrill, we recommend using IML's Feed Detection Module. Visit IML's website for details.
